About us

This blog is the online presence of the Ethnomusicology Discussion Group, a group of postgraduate students in ethnomusicology and related areas from various University of London institutions (mostly) who meet regularly for a reading group.  The blog was created following the National Graduate Conference in Ethnomusicology at the Institute of Music Research in London in September 2010, and after a hiatus it was revived in July 2012.

This blog is open to all, so please enjoy reading it, whoever you are!  If you would like to write posts, please email edgchat@gmail.com with a little bit about yourself and what you would like to write about, and how often.

Please keep posts and comments constructive and courteous, as I’m sure you will.  We may also introduce themes every now and then to stimulate discussion, so ideas for these are welcome.
